"it's not worth celebrating your best fighter's skill if your army loses the war." - asian philosopher.

played against ahmad ibrahim sec today. started the match horribly, allowing a 20-point gap by half-time. then in the 3rd and 4th quarter, we started becoming alive. we closed the gap to 64-65, (us down by 1) and then 66-65. that's when things started to go horribly wrong. they began their full court press and we slipped back down. final score: we lost. 77-88. but the guys played superbly and that's all that matters.

and now for the self-centered side of this post. i had the best game in my life, scoring 37 points, grabbing 20+ rebounds and blocking 7 shots. hahaha:):):):) i suprised myself man.

i think i'm going to let God take over my decisions. i'm not going to rush it and watch helplessly as everything falls apart. thanks for the advice everybody. and shaun. for the book. here's to singlehood! (:

played against manjusri again yesterday. left halfway during the match for drama, with a very... *ahem* DIGNIFIED exit. see, the manjusri team brought a few girls there, and i totally forgot about it. so, like all other training days, i just changed right there. then the coach went, "eh!!!" and i was like ohcrapla. so the girls were like.. i dont know, was trying to kill myself. yeah. very unglam.

had drama exams today, went to simbian's house for further prac and then it was super retarded. hahahhaa.. went to eat chicken rice for lunch and we were talking about all the different drama class histories we all had. hahahaha. so, drama exams. bernice was freaking out like mad and so was everyone else. then simbian and miss ying did bernice's indian makeup, and she looked... well, like an indian. hahaha. but very nice. then bernice and miss ying did my hair and bernice was complaining about how short my hair was. hahahahaha.. so the exam was alright, with the examiner being rather nice.hahahaa

had handball for pe today. woot! mrs tan says my team has our attack and our defense is super smooth! yay! then i had this shot where i leapt in front of the keeper and slammed the ball right into his groin. heehee. the man folded like a fish. anyway. we are SO gonna win the inter class handball man! hahahaha

lost to punggol sec today by 4 points. so final score was 63-59. had an international referee refereeing our match and by far, he's the best ref i have ever had. hahaha.. punggol's centre was super tall, almost 1 head taller than me. sigh. but the coach said we played rather well. good. 8 points, 7 blocks. not a good show. the points, i mean. the blocks were nasty:)

the went for drama and i finally managed to memorise my da vinci code. then was having a good time there laughing over random things like the guy covering his ears when christabell(is that how her name's spelt?) sings, bernice tripping on her sari, and stitch hitting my head when i stand up on the chair. hahaha..

AND i got my new specs! NO MORE BLINDNESS AT NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING!!! WOOHOO!!!!

happy birthday esther!

feeling better now.. still got the diahorrea though but not feeling as dead. there's the wesley prac tomorrow. i've got a feeling it's gonna be fun, bullying a. carol and stuff. hahaha..

went for drama today. miss ying's mood was slightly better compared to sunday. heh. then this boy spilled some water on the floor and when miss ying asked him,"is that plain water?!" he said,"NO!" so we were all like 'ohno' and he says," it's NORMAL WATER!" hahahahahahahahah!!

got my new specs. it's coming on fri. heh.

Monday, September 4, 2006

i've got a slight fever and major diahorrea. started last night and to put it crudely, my butt was gushing like a tap in the toilet. needless to say, i'm quite cranky now.

woke up at 11.30 and wanted to go back to sleep. then after hours of playing the xbox and the com, had tution. so, evidently, my highlight of the day was watching The Devil Wears Prada with family and grace. oh yes. and my specs broke, so i'm wearing my contacts arnd the house. gonna get my new glasses tmr. heh.

september HOLIDAYS? what on earth is that??

I'm back.
from obs.

things picked up their pace as soon as i turned on my phone. heh. oh well, we can't be ALL enjoying ourselves can we? anyway, i'm kinda happy about the new work. gives me something to look forward to. haha.

day #1
went to camp 2 by boat, passing by camp 1 and really envying the people who were staying there. got sorted into our watches. GO MAGELLAN! if you're too dense, that's my watch name. heh. had some introductions and team-building games. then went to pitch our tents in sunrise valley. samuel told us that there would be wild boars roaming around in the camp at night. then he told us not to worry. wow.

day #2
had rock climbing in the morning followed by a kayaking tutorial. me and joachim still have our form, though a bit rusty. kayaked to camp 1, where we had a damn nice dinner. then went to fool around, disturbing other schools:) and just chatting around with each other. went to check our campsite and found out thhat there were only 3 tents! so got the livingstone people to form floodlights with their 6 torches while i put up that last tent. don't know WHERE on earth the rest of the watcch went to, but it was kinda fun working by mostly feel.

day #3
went to do the inverse tower in the morning where me and joachim ROCKED. hahaha.. then went to prep for our sea ex(pedition) and then had our briefing during the blasted cat 1 thunderstorm. got nominated as a sex leader (SEa eXpediton LEADER) and, since the other leaders couldn't read maps, bacame the navigator. so after the rain, brought the kayaks down, ready to launch, when 2 monitor lizards swam right across our beachfront. had to wait. then launched all 30 kayaks and began our seaex to campsite 3. almost hit a submerged rock which was lurking JUST BELOW the surface of the water and almost freaked out. actually i did freak out. just a little. heh. then had to deal with a capsize case which was totally unnecessary. made it to campsite 3 in good time and loaded up the kayaks and he backpacks just as the rain started. for those of you clean, dry and warm in your homes, we were freezing, filthy and soaked. pitched our tents in the deluge and then it turned dark. so we had to pitch our tents in near total darkness. then, having no place to bathe, we just had to remain wet and clammy. dean lit a fire and we had campbell soup. for those of you who know me very well, you know i absolutely HATE mushroom soup. but desperate times call for desperate needs. i DEVOURED the soup. that's how hungry i was. then went to sleep in the wet tent. jalil lit a fire inside and me, marcus, joachim, matthew and jalil were huddled round the flame, drying out our wrinkled bodies. haha.

day #4
technically this IS day 4. had maggi mee for breakfast and had to strike down our tents by 6.45am. not easy. we had to catch the tide to the west side of the island where the tide would then change at 10am to bring us back to camp 2. all this had to be done in strict precision or else we would be fighting against the tide. which isn't nice. THEN there was another cat 1 storm. until 8.30. which gave us 1.5 hours to travel about 5 km. sweet. we reached the west side of the island at 10.15! instructors were very impressed and amazed at us and gave us biscuits as a reward.

'biscuits?!' you might say. 'what the-' kayaking at about 4+km/hour is not very relaxing, mind you. so biscuits are a perfectly good reward. =)

anyway, while we were having our treats, fajar sec kayakers rounded the corner. the sea ex leaders had a formation with everyone in a straight line with us in front. we started cheering and beating on our kayaks to get into a high. very Lord of the Rings. seaex leaders put up their paddles in the air, put them down. charge. mobile charlie gladly complied. our instructor, samuel, later told us that "that fleet was the most united fleet he has EVER seen in the history of his career." " we are united for either a common goal or a common enemy." " you guys formed a perfectly straight line which developed gradually into an arrowhead shape, cutting fajar's formation like a heated knife through butter." (=

after the battle, we had a commitment stretch which we were forbidden to stop in. the commitment strech is actually the sebmerged check jawa, the coral reef. stopping there would make complications. anyway, we cleared the thing and made it back to camp one at 1.45 pm, travelling an average time of FIVE km/hour! *clap clap*

day #5(today)
did our final activity, the jetty jump. we shouted our commitments in life before 'taking the plunge into the unknown'. quite apt. hahaha. so when it was my turn, i shouted my commitment:), crossed my arms and stepped off the platform. i forgot to close my legs completely and that resulted in a sharp pain between the legs. cringe at this point if you must. i also lost my shoe. hmph. travelled back in the boat and headed back to school. then went for sakae sushi to put back the energy which we lost. i put back a little more energy than i needed and ended up quite sick. couldnt even walk properly. hahahaha.

there. those are five damn good days which i want to remember. so now go rest your eyes. i'm done(=

going to obs tmr. bernice told me of all the things to expect, what to do and stuff. hahaha.. i got drams from 2-4.30, followed by a maths from 5-6.30, then im going out for dinner. woohoo. busy til the end.

baked cookies with grace, grace and jeremy yesterday. super funny and stuff. hahaha.. in the end, the cookies tasted alright, but they had the texture of a plaster wall. except for the big ones. THOSE COOKIES ARE THE STUFF! yeah. hahahah..

excited and.. excited, really. hahahah.. don't miss me!! (= i'm thinking that you guys won't. you're all probably cheering. hahahahah(:

"my mind is a BLANK"

IT'S THE END OF THE MOST STRESSFUL WEEK OF MY LIFE!!! YAY! and it's the last day of school for me. hahaha.. played for teacher's day chapel today. messed up the songs for the first part but then everyone kinda got into the groove for the lower sec part and it was SWEET. hahahahahaha.. went back to js to see the teachers but they weren't there cos they were like all over the place. OHOH. and i saw morgan!!! hahaha. kinda strange to see him carrying arnd books and stuff. hahaha. oh well... said hi to the few teachers there and then went for basketball training.

and me and dean were FINALLY on the same team. marcus too. best team i've ever played with. the burden's not on me to score, and all of us just go with the flow and keep passing. joga bonito. hahahaha =)

and i'm off for obs on monday. shall blog once more sometime this weekend.

perfect end? i think so.

even more tired.

had SB today and got that nasty shock when ernest chia said that the project deadline is on this FRIDAY. kevin almost had a heart attack. i'm slightly slower. i'm having it now. with this project, 3 mindmaps, a worship rehearsal on thursday, joint this sat and obs next week, i rock.

everything's coming at me day by day. oh yes. to add to the list above: seven tests. then there's training this wednesday. don't know how i'm gonna pull myself up. i'm having trouble standing and whenever i use my arms, i get a sharp pain in the shoulders. oh well, i always feel somewhat like this and basketball usually cures it with that rush of adrenaline. that's why i like it.

school's fun with the three guys. super corny and always laughing. the second reason why i go to school.

uncomfortable. that's how i feel. about everything.

exceedingly tired.

went for the MWS soccer tournament on sat and played for both over 18 and under 18 teams. defender, midfield, keeper. woots. hahaha.. lost all the games and the only goals we scored were own goals. 0.o hahaha.

i was right about one thing. this IS one of my 'start bad end good' weeks. and i mean it =)

but for now, it's back to my normal life.
